Kaohsiung Lighthouse was built in 1883 and is often called "Qihou Lighthouse" because it is located at the top of Qihou Mountain in Qijin District. It is also the only white octagonal brick lighthouse in Taiwan, with a cylindrical top and an elegant, meticulous architectural form. The lighthouse has ensured the safety of ships in Kaohsiung Port from the Qing Dynasty to the present.

After exterior renovations were completed in 2022, a coffee lounge and light environment feature was added. Watching the big ships enter the port at sunset and drinking coffee is the most elegant scene in Qijin.
